Bishops Hill Kitchen was formed by Chef Patron Barry Wood and his wife, Sofia Tsarampoulidou, in September 2026.
After a successful three-year period as Head Chef working for the legendary Alex Tranquillo of Bishops Dining Room and Wine Bar, a deal was agreed for Barry and Sofia to take the reins and lead the restaurant into the future.
Barry, born in Mile Cross and always based in Norwich as a chef, has 24 years of experience working in some of our city’s finest restaurants.
Barry and Sofia met while working in one of the city’s most celebrated hotels: Sofia as a restaurant manager and Barry as a Sous Chef.
Together, they hope to bring you a relaxed fine-dining experience using the best of Norfolk’s produce, with modern British cooking techniques paired with a carefully hand-picked wine list, crafted cocktails, and local spirits.
You will find a seasonal à la carte menu alongside a special set lunch choice, daily specials using BBQ, and an evening tasting menu experience with the option of a stunning wine flight.
